The Public Service Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of the City’s two public cemeteries. Pat Schaefer is the Sexton for the City of Geneseo. The cemeteries, North Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery, are open to the public from sunrise to sunset each day of the week. Vehicles are permitted in the cemeteries but must stay on the roadway at all times.
Grave Lots are for sale: North Cemetery lots may be purchased for $400.00 and Oakwood Cemetery lots may be purchased for $500.00. If you are interested in purchasing a lot, please contact Pat Schaefer at 309.944.3171.
Burials in each of the Cemeteries are as follows:
Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM are $500.00
Saturday morning until 12 noon are $700.00
No Saturday afternoon, Sunday or holiday burials.
